Availibility

Ward councilors will be chosen by voters on Nov. 3 and Ward 7 candidate Timothy Allen today pledged that, if elected, he will continue to be readily available to the electorate to foster stronger representation, better accountability and to fulfill an obligation to remain in contact.

“Ward elections give us all the opportunity to be closer to our government and one of the ways I hope to deliver strong representation is by being visible and available,” Allen said. “I will continue the personal and grassroots approach in office that I have used in my campaign.  Residents will have multiple ways to contact me as I will make my cell phone number and e-mail address public.”

“I pledge to continue as a regular attendee at civic association, neighborhood watch, and sector meetings. I will hold regular office hours at varying times so as to make access convenient for all my neighbors,” he promised.

“Strong representation starts with caring and willingness, but manifests itself in availability, listening and action.  I have tried to be as available as possible to my neighbors during the campaign and demonstrated that by walking the streets of Ward 7 and meeting people at their doors,” Allen said, noting that he has had discussions about city policies on well over a thousand doorsteps. “I have shared my cell phone number and my website information with voters.

“My availability to them is my responsibility and my commitment.  In order to work together to improve our ward and city, we need to be able to talk to each other and use the great resources we have available to us within the city.”
